THE ROLE:

As a Power Attainment Manager in the Datacenter and GPU Accelerated Processing Division, you will be responsible for the System level Electrical Validation & Stability, Power Management Feature Tuning and Power modelling correlation. You will interact with key Power Management Architects & Firmware teams, Power Modelling Leads, Board Design & Validation Engineers, Performance engineers, Customer Engineering teams as well as the Product Definition team. You are responsible for Electrical stability of the System, Maximizing Performance/Watt utilizing Power Management Features and Power model correlation to enable next generation of SOCs. You will be managing and driving a team of highly motivated engineers who are passionate about working on cutting-edge products in the HPC/AI markets. 

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and building great products. You will have strong Power fundamentals, understanding of Power Management features and hands on experience optimizing them, silicon validation experience, good understanding of PID controllers, PDN, Physical design, Semiconductor Process, Thermal/Power interactions, Power/Performance optimization & Power Models. You will  have excellent communication skills, critical problem-solving skills, data analysis and visualization skills, able to multi-task and work with cross-domain, cross-functional teams to build great products. You are a people leader who can manage, mentor and motivate a team of engineers and build a high performing team. You will also have program management skills to plan the tasks, track deliverables and meet project timelines. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Managing a team of power validation engineers. You will set priorities for the team, get results across boundaries, ensure an inclusive work environment, develop employees, and manage performance. 
  • Provide Technical leadership for electrical validation and power optimization in datacenter platforms. 
  • Drive tuning and debug of Power Management features in GPUs/APUs. 
  • Manage workstreams for active and static power characterization. 
  • Optimization of throttlers while minimizing performance impact on GPUs and/or CPUs 
  • Execute ROI analysis of power management features and provide feedback to power management architecture team. 
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, high speed probes, function generator and data acquisition equipment. 
  • Develop and mentor junior engineers into technical leads. Drive process efficiencies, automation and AI for debug and analysis. 
  • Provide weekly readout to executives on progress, blockers and next steps. 
  • Plan and allocate resources for and directs activities in engineering function to meet schedules, standards, and cost for new generation of products.  
  • Work with Customer engineering for critical customer engagements pre and post production and for continued product support in sustaining phase 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of management experience in fast paced and evolving environments. 
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as an engineer in semiconductor industry. 
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver multiple projects in a timely fashion. 
  • Prioritizing work items in a fast-paced environment and escalating as necessary. 
  • Experience leading senior engineers/leads drawing from your own expertise/experience. 
  • Experience mentoring and growing junior engineers into future SMEs. 
  • Experience creating long range plans and budgets (OPEX and CAPEX) 
  • Experience with hiring, building, managing and motivating a high performing team 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Engineering. MS preferred.
