As a Power Engineer with our DC Power Performance Engineering organization, you will be responsible for power delivery design, development, and testing for system and rack-level solutions. THE PERSON: You will be the power delivery expert working within cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for working with customer engineers to develop test plans, execute testing, and communicate results. You will be developing and improving testing methods while leading other engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Interface with suppliers and customers during development to review requirements, resolve bugs, report testing results, and provide feedback to development teams. Analyze power delivery from rack power inputs to servers and understand compatibility with data center power delivery systems. Collaborate to develop detailed testing plans for meeting customer data center power delivery requirements. Collaborate to develop new testing tools and equipment for qualifying racks to function with zero downtime in the data center. Write technical documentation and presentations for internal and external use. Lead other engineers in executing power testing in the lab using scopes, eloads, AC sources, and other power test equipment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of relevant work experience Proven ability to work with suppliers and customers. Experience with power electronics for server systems; ac/dc and dc/dc conversion, AC and DC power delivery, and battery backup units. Experience with single-phase and three-phase low-voltage utility power delivery including UPS systems. Experience testing power designs in the lab using test equipment; programable AC sources, active DC loads, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DVMs, signal generators, and basic soldering tools. Basic understanding of regulatory requirements regarding safety and immunity/compatibility of power systems and components. Server power management protocol knowledge such as IPMI, PMBus, and SMBus. Experience with automating testing. Strong analog circuit skills. Strong ability to manage multiple projects, grow knowledge and capabilities of the power team, and perform hands-on testing.
