We innovate in supply chain, post purchase and fraud detection systems by leveraging the capabilities of AI, ML and NLP. 

We are looking for a Principal Staff Engineer who is passionate about customer experience and want to work on cutting edge technology, that is the intersection of NLP, LLM, ML and software engineering at scale. 

Role overview: 

The desired candidate can dive deep into underlying components, design and optimize the stack end-to-end, and be a role model for building high-quality infrastructure and delivering results with grit. Key to this position’s success will require understanding business needs and working backward to develop technical solutions while working effectively with leaders of individual teams and aligning technical directions with critical stakeholders. 

This position will report directly to the engineering VP of Post Purchase Experience and Transportation. It will offer the autonomy to explore various areas and discover the next big innovation that infuses machine learning and deep learning into the search stack. 

Key responsibilities: 

• Working with Engineering and Product leaders in building the next generation Post Purchase Experience Systems – that directly impact L0 metrics like CPMU, Post Purchase Customer NPS, Perfect returns etc. 
• Build the next Gen Fraud detection and Labour Force Management platforms that can scale across multiple markets. Work closely Have strong execution with the ability to drive critical developments and overcome technical blockers.  
• Develop and customize/tune deep learning generative models, deep learning models for multi-modal for eCommerce customer scenarios 
• Train foundational models that can help with building learning systems. 
• Define process and experiments for an E2E foundation model. 
• Mentor and guide team members on frameworks, methodologies related to LLMs, RAGs and their limitations, semantic web, reinforcement learning 

Essential Qualifications: 

• Education: B.S, M.S or PhD in Computer science, or related field 
• More than 15 years of working in software engineering and AI/ML Engineering 
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in building large scale foundational models, models for eCommerce scenarios. 
• Experience in Generative AI (e.g., Large Language Models, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models). 
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch), artificial intelligence, deep learning, natural language processing, or other ML discipline. 
• Understand RAG and its limitations for multi-modal knowledge retrieval. 
• Experience with inference platforms in AWS, Azure and other open-source platforms.
