AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: Establish and maintain AMD’s technological leadership position in HPC EDA infrastructure in semiconductor industry and represents AMD to the outside technical community, partners, and vendors. THE PERSON: You have a passion for scaling and optimizing engineering infrastructures and applications in cloud and on prem. You have deployed scale-out automation technologies for managing EDA engineering environments and flows. You aspire to re-architect high-performance computing solutions for improving the utilization and efficiency continuously to meet your customers’ evolving needs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct full review of existing HPC EDA infrastructure with grid, OS, and EDA tools teams as well as engineering technical leaders and re-architect the future global hybrid on prem and multi-cloud HPC infrastructure that is highly efficient, utilized, scalable, and cost effective. Propose innovative approaches and work collaboratively with peer teams to maximize grid performance and efficiency including overprovisioning workloads to reduce the amount of memory waste and the number of idling servers. Be technical leader across projects and departmental boundaries in the development of new HPC EDA strategies, solutions, processes, or technologies with significant impact on AMD product families, go to market strategies and customer satisfaction. Establish and maintain AMD’s technological leadership position in HPC EDA infrastructure in semiconductor industry and represents AMD to the outside technical community, partners, and vendors. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Extensive experience in supporting EDA engineering compute grids and applications, from open source to in-house workflows. A proven track record for sustained innovation in adopting cloud technologies including effective use of public cloud spot instances to increase the ROI for EDA workloads. Able to demonstrate experience in supporting large scale GRID solutions running LSF, UGE, Slurm, NC. and monitoring/analytic tools such as PowerBI or similar platforms. Excellent with Linux/Unix and NAS HPC for all types of Silicon Engineering and software development use cases. Superior experience in programming and debugging software and scripts written in C/C++/Python/PERL or similar languages. Strong hands-on experience in analysis, tuning, and improving of IT infrastructure for supporting software engineering and silicon designs. Ability to develop and articulate strategic shifts and initiatives in HPC EDA landscape to senior IT and engineering leaders and users.
