THE ROLE:

AMD is looking for a Principal Network Infrastructure Engineer to help with design and implementation of cutting edge networking capabilities and architectures across its global network infrastructure. We are looking for someone with a passion for developing modern, world-class networking solutions that are resilient, performant, scalable, and programmable. You will have an opportunity to create vision, strategy, and take a lead role on various network infrastructure projects in various domains ranging from Data Center networks, AI/ML clusters, SDWAN, Campus, etc.

THE PERSON:

You are an individual, who is an expert, and passionate about Network infrastructure, Operations, and Software defined everything. You are well experienced in designing, implementing and operating large scale network projects, and stay up-to-date on modern architectures, technologies, and solutions across the industry. You are willing to learn, have ability to lead cross functional teams, and display a can-do attitude to get things done in time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide senior thought leadership and significant technical contributions in design, implementation, and support of AMD's global network infrastructure.
  • Bring passion, enthusiasm and dedication for a metrics driven approach towards Network uptime, resiliency, performance, low latency, and end user satisfaction.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise to identify and evaluate innovations in networking and assess their impact towards positive user experience.
  • Collaborate with other functions in IT across security, compute, procurement, finance, vendors, customers, for a successful network operation.
  • Bring innovations with focus on Artificial Intelligence and champion AMD-on-AMD approach to Network infrastructure and operations.
  • Contribute to next-generation networking proof-of-concept projects in close collaboration with partners, guide new technology investments and implementation decisions to evolve the network technology stack.
  • Participate in budget planning, allocations, spend tracking and adherence.
  • Present and help with executive presentations to CxO levels within AMD and across industry forums.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven years of experience in Networking and Infrastructure domains, preferably Data Center, and Cloud networking domain.
  • Solid understanding of full networking stack (routing, switching, WAN, DC), including key protocols & standards, Linux networking, open-source solutions, vendor ecosystems, and implementation best practices
  • Adept at troubleshooting, documentation, and executive communications.
  • Passionate about infrastructure automation through software, together with hands-on experience of network automation.
  • Experience in guiding other senior engineers with appropriate use of delegation coupled with “trust but verify” validation to ensure alignment and consistency in deliverables.
  • CCIE certified or other similar networking certifications.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
