Arene’s mission is to empower Toyota and its partners to deliver next-generation vehicles with hardware-agnostic software that can be updated to support new features at any time.

The Global Execution Excellence team ensures that quality is built into the product from the very beginning and strives to constantly improve the way we develop. We value the principles of the Toyota Production System and believe that thoroughly applying its methodology enables us to produce safe software in the highest quality and in the most efficient way. The Arene Quality Management Team guarantees that the Arene team delivers the highest quality by defining and ensuring the adoption of a QMS framework of standards and controls for our work processes. 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for professionals who are excited about working in a software engineering environment that puts safety and quality first in software production. You will be working closely with development teams to understand current practices, support process optimization and standardization across teams, and ensure their Arene-wide application. We welcome all professional and academic backgrounds, as long as you are excited to learn and have good communication and analytical thinking skills!

You will report to the Team Lead of Quality, Execution Excellence Department, and the role is hybrid - you will work in the office at least 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
You are expected to work beyond the following responsibilities whenever possible to help achieve the mission.

・Produce and maintain best practices for Arene (Quality Management System, Software Quality, Engineering Processes including Security and Functional Safety, etc.)
・Coordinate the collaboration with the Engineering, Security, FuSa and Compliance, etc., as well as with stakeholders in Toyota to create standards, procedures, guidelines, or work instructions
・Assist Arene teams in the roll-out of new procedures and their implementation
・Effectively track the status of the QMS adoption
・Operate an internal QMS audit strategy to assess the conformity of the Arene operations
・Achieve ISO9001 compliance for Arene 
・Promote a total quality mindset in the Arene organization by proposing an organization-wide communication campaign

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Understanding of modern software development practices and frameworks (Agile, Scrum, ASPICE, etc.)
  • Expert knowledge of Quality Management Systems, such as ISO9001 or IATF
  • Experience performing process audits as part of an organization-wide internal audit program
  • Experience in the automotive industry and understanding of its regulatory frameworks 
  • Mindset for ownership, growth, and a bias for progress
  • Ability to create abstract representations of complex processes and to drive alignment of roles, responsibilities, and required material and information flow with stakeholders
  • Solid project management skills
  • Experience working in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures
  • Deep commitment to quality
  • Excellent English communication and people engagement skills

    NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience in Quality Planning or Quality Assurance
  • Japanese communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Toyota Production System (TPS)
  • Problems and conflicts resolution
  • Hands-on experience in software development
