This team is responsible for planning services for EV owners. They are composed of experts in electric power, software, UX, and new business development. They collaborate with the in-house power operations team and other related departments within Toyota Motor Corporation to support Toyota’s transition to “Mobility Company” by creating new electricity services. You will report to the head of this team, Lead of Energy. 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are developing a new product that will serve as the future's social infrastructure, merging energy and mobility. We seek a passionate Product Owner to help revolutionize mobility with us. In this role, you must excel at balancing quality, cost, and delivery; managing product backlogs; and prioritizing tasks. We are looking for candidates with exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with all stakeholders and drive software development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with team members to define deliverables for Woven by Toyota, Toyota Motor Corporation, and other partners.
  • Develop product plans, set requirements, and create technical specifications.
  • Document software functionality and performance requirements while coordinating with the technical team for development.
  • Report project progress to the team and integrate feedback into development.
  • Participate in all development phases, including concept design, prototyping, and volume production.
  • Work three days per week in the office and report to the manager in accordance with the hybrid work policy.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of work experience, including 3+ years in product management (roadmap development, defining technical requirements, and motivating engineering teams)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum project management using tools such as JIRA
  • Background in software development using technologies like WebApp, MobileApp, and Python
  • Strong strategic thinking, effective communication, and collaboration in a Japanese work culture as well as in an English-only team
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese and understand how to navigate Japanese business environments
  • Business-level proficiency in English

    NICE TO HAVES

  • In-depth industry knowledge and awareness of technology trends related to electric power equipment and residential facilities
  • Solid understanding of electric vehicles and charging facilities
  • Over 5 years of experience in a large Japanese company
  • Proven experience in new business development and operations
  • Familiarity with AWS service operations and cloud infrastructure
