THE ROLE: 

We are in search of an experienced software program manager for the Core Software Group (CSG). This individual would be the interface with customer teams, other engineering and program teams in the North America region and collaborate with our engineering teams in India. Responsibilities include defining and managing key product deliverables/schedules and driving cross functional activities to achieve both AMD and customer goals.

 

THE PERSON: 

The right candidate will have solid knowledge of program management, an outstanding track record of delivering software programs, and experience with system Debug Tools (hardware and software) is desired.

The applicant must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Understand the customer's business goals and requirements through the AMD customer teams
  • Align with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Business Unit) on customer deliverables with emphasis on tracking issue resolution, driving technical enablement/ communications, technical support
  • Maintain awareness of, and provide status reports on program schedule, status and key issues, track resource planning
  • Identify program risks and develop mitigation plans and maintain lessons learned
  • Manage customer critical issues and escalations
  • Manage customer hardware sample requirements in development

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Proven Project & Program Management experience in dynamic and competitive industry, particularly within Software Development or Engineering based organizations
  • Should be familiar with x86 engineering/ development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Horizontal leadership/Matrix management experience is required
  • Flexible working schedule to work with global program execution team (Asia and North America emphasis)
  • Familiarity with the Semiconductor industry, especially the various software functions of CPU drivers/ tools is desirable

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering 
  • PMP certification a plus, but not required
