As a Prompt Engineer, you will be part of Jasper's core prompt engineering team, and play a crucial role in turning AI into value for our customers. Jasper was one of the first AI companies to bring the value of LLMs to the masses with prompt engineering, and you will continue pushing this frontier every day with your prompting work here at Jasper.
This position involves a blend of creativity and technical skills to build, refine, test, and evaluate prompts for language and multimodal models. Your mission will be to unravel complex problems at the forefront of AI technology, implement and invent the latest prompting techniques to solve these problems, and work with our product teams to deliver these solutions to customers.
The role is open to candidates located in Australia and can be remote within Australia. We have offices in Austin, TX and Salt Lake City, UT with employees based across the US and Australia. We've built a strong foundation to support remote employee engagement with other teams. What you will do at Jasper:
- Understand how Jasper works, and work with your team to design AI solutions that deliver value.
- Deeply understand the marketing persona, and the needs that marketers have in AI-generated content.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI, natural language processing and machine learning, and implement this research in your prompt engineering work.
- Identify deficiencies and edge cases in current prompts, and develop creative solutions to fix and improve them.
- Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to evaluate prompt effectiveness.
- Champion prompt engineering across the company, supporting content and product teams to understand prompt engineering best practices
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, product managers, designers and researchers to ensure the highest quality of Jasper's outputs.
- Continuously tackle challenging problems at the forefront of AI and content creation.
What you will bring to Jasper:
- A desire to innovate and drive quality for groundbreaking AI features.
- Experience in prompt engineering or a similar role, with a deep understanding of prompting best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on lateral thinking and innovation.
- A passion for AI technology and its creative potential, with a solid technical and conceptual understanding of Large Language Models, how they work, and how they can be manipulated.
- A coding background is preferred, with strong skills in data analysis and experimentation.
- A strong ability to collaborate. We work in a highly collaborative environment where the lines between product, design, and engineering are all blurred.

Compensation Range
At Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range offered for this role is $200,000-$215,000 AUD. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies and certifications.
