The Role

Palantir's Proposal Team, known internally as the Smiths, seeks a versatile writer and project manager to win new commercial contracts.

Smiths work closely with Palantir's business development, engineering, and legal teams to articulate Palantir's value proposition to current and potential customers. We craft compelling documents and web communications that explain how our software addresses critical issues faced by commercial enterprises and develop strategies for new customer acquisition. On any given day, we’re managing several concurrent RFP processes for a new customer contracts, triaging new incoming business opportunities, or helping to build a software demo for a potential customer. Smiths also lead a range of business development (BD), capture management, and proposal management efforts. This includes qualifying new opportunities, partnering with others in the BD organization to identify the most effective pursuit strategies, and overseeing complex, multi-vendor RFP processes.

The Role

Core Responsibilities

  • Write and manage proposals in collaboration with multiple internal teams to communicate our software products to potential customers, proposal evaluators, and other audiences
  • Develop document templates and self-help resources for internal Palantir teams to more effectively communicate with customers and respond to RFPs
  • Work closely with Palantir’s engineering, legal, sales, and leadership teams to shape strategy for U.S. Commercial outreach
  • Develop deep familiarity with Palantir's software platforms and how they can be used to solve a wide range of real-world problems
  • Occasional travel within the United States

  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work effectively within an evolving, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to build and deliver product demonstrations to new and existing customers
  • Effective commercial acumen, including assessing competitive position and advising business development teams on how to proceed with a given RFP opportunity
  • In-depth knowledge of public procurement, with the ability to plan and deliver capture strategies in line with various common purchasing routes
  • Effective design and visual communication skills related to document layout, graphics, and other visuals

  • What We Require

  • Experience writing and managing complex documents such as competitive RFP responses
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Salary

    The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $95,000 - $147,000/year. Total compensation for this position may also include Restricted Stock units, sign-on bonus and other potential future incentives. Further note that total compensation for this position will be determined by each individual’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes the value of any potential sign-on bonus; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives.
