Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Public Affairs Associate to join our growing team.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the development and execution of our global public policy strategy.
Reporting to our Global Head of Public Affairs & CommunicationsBased in Paris
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze public policy issues and developments related to AI.
Assist in developing and implementing public policy strategies that align with Mistral AI's objectives.
Identify, prioritize and craft responses to policy issues that may affect Mistral AI and understand the impact they may have on Mistral AI’s community.
Help solve policy challenges with multiple approaches.
Drive and coordinate policy campaigns to support Mistral’s advocacy work.
Build and maintain relationships with industry associations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support policy compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations on public policy matters for internal and external audiences.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in public affairs and policy advocacy.
Support leadership decisions with a comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (overall industry, socioeconomic, political and geopolitical environment).
Qualifications & profiles
3+ years of professional experienceBachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
1-2 years of experience in public affairs, policy research, or a related role. Experience in the technology sector is a strong plus but not required.
Strong understanding of the international policy landscape related to AI, technologySolid grasp of institutional and decision-making process in France, EU and USA.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into clear and concise briefings.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
Now, it would be ideal if you : Have a very strong expertise of regulatory frameworks in AI (including EU AI act)
Have already worked in-house or served in a GenAI company.
