Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are seeking a Robot Validation Engineer experienced in integration and validation of complex electromechanical systems. This person will be pivotal in integration and debugging of the full robotic system and subsystems.
Responsibilities:
- Assume a pivotal role in commissioning, validating, and troubleshooting the robot
- Maintain detailed documentation of integration processes, test procedures, and test results
- Understanding of how different subsystems (Controls, Electrical, Software, Mechanical) interact, and where they commonly have issues
- Implement corrective actions to resolve issues and prevent recurrence
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of repairs to ensure functionality and reliability
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve integration issues
- Provide comprehensive training and technical support to fellow team members
Requirements:
- Degree in electrical, mechanical, controls, or electromechanical systems
- 3+ years of experience in electromechanical debugging, testing, and repair
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes)
- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems driven by software
- Familiarity with torque tools and mechanical assembly best practices
- Familiarity with Linux and version control systems (e.g., Git)
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with CATIA V6
- Experience with designing and executing test plans for real robots
- Ability to code in C++ and/or Python
- Ability to write and execute scripts for automated testing and validation
- Understanding of AI systems and how they are implemented
