Our Data & Analytics teams build powerful stories and visuals that inform the games we make, the technology we develop, and business decisions that drive Epic.
What You'll Do
You will drive the building core analytics data modeling practices and foundational business reporting layers for Rocket League and related titles. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to ensure we provide thoughtful reporting layers that are comprehensive and consistent across other reporting layers. You will enforce good practices and workshop with your internal colleagues to ensure alignment on practices and foster an environment of knowledge sharing.
In this role, you will
- Build foundational data models to represent our players, games, and business in ways that are easily distributed and utilized to build core reporting
- Work with stakeholders to provide insights and data-supported suggestions on how the business should approach objectives
- Partner with our Data Engineering teams to align on pipeline development practices
- Collaborate across Product, Design, Engineering, and Game Development teams to design and implement proper event-driven metrics that provide the foundation for our reporting layers
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of industry or relevant experience, with proven interest in and knowledge of live service video games
- Experience writing efficient and scalable queries over billions of rows in a distributed computing environment with PySpark; it is a plus if you’re comfortable in streaming
- Development experience in Python analytics ecosystem
- Thoughtful conceptual data modeling and data architecture practices
- Strong product intuition and demonstrated background in influencing products by applying data and measurement to drive alignment
- Experience working with development teams to instrument data and ensure continued data quality
- Familiarity with supporting operational processes including code version control (Github or similar) and orchestration (Airflow)
- Passion for the gaming industry and turning data into insights into actions
This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including CA & WA).

Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
