About the Team
The Tax team at Xero is responsible for developing and launching tax-related products and features to enable Xero's accounting partners and their clients to meet their tax compliance needs.

About the Role
Xero seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. You'll be a key player in supporting our product development teams, ensuring smooth and efficient deployments. Your expertise in AWS and CI/CD will be invaluable as you guide and mentor engineers, promote best practices, and automate infrastructure tasks. You'll help us build a robust and scalable environment for our cutting-edge tax product, enabling continuous delivery and a better experience for our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Infrastructure Expertise: Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure.
  • DevOps Support: Guide teams on best practices, automate deployments, and improve release processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure and optimise performance.
  • Mentorship: Coach engineers on infrastructure concepts and best practices.

    What you’ll bring with you:

  • Strong AWS experience in a high-availability environment
  • Coding/scripting experience (e.g., Kotlin, Terraform)
  • Experience supporting multiple development teams
  • Understanding of release processes (e.g., blue/green deployments, canary releases).
