We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Linux Hardware Engineer to help us take our proof-of-concept (POC) hardware solutions to production and develop our Linux client MVP. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hardware, Linux internals, and the ability to work with various microcontrollers and single-board computers like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Orange Pi. This role requires a strong background in the Linux kernel, device drivers, and hands-on experience with hardware.
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Linux Hardware Engineer to help us take our proof-of-concept (POC) hardware solutions to production and develop our Linux client MVP. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of hardware, Linux internals, and the ability to work with various microcontrollers and single-board computers like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and Orange Pi. This role requires a strong background in the Linux kernel, device drivers, and hands-on experience with hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test hardware solutions using Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Orange Pi, and other relevant platforms.
  • Customize and optimize the Linux kernel, develop and maintain device drivers to ensure seamless hardware integration.
  • Work closely with the engineering team to transition POC hardware solutions into robust, scalable production models.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to develop, test, and deploy the Linux client MVP.
  • Perform debugging and performance tuning for both hardware and software to ensure high reliability and efficiency.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for hardware designs, kernel modifications, and device driver implementations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of hardware and software development processes.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development and Linux internals.
  • Proficiency with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Orange Pi, and similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of the Linux kernel and device drivers.
  • Experience with C/C++ and Python programming.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Ability to read schematics and use hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hacker mentality to creatively overcome challenges.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other single-board computers and microcontrollers.
  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly related to Linux kernel or device drivers.
  • Experience in productionizing hardware products.
