The Role
We’re seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the growing DDM (data and digital media) Finance team. The ideal candidate is analytical minded, technologically inclined, results driven, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to take on a core payroll role in a fast growing company in the AdTech space and help implement new systems and procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of the payroll, sales incentive compensation program, and equity processes for a growing organization and a commitment to providing excellent service to the company’s employees.
Main responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Own the payroll function and serve as the main point of contact for all payroll related matters
- Process and reconcile monthly payroll in Ceridian for AU NZ
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely, including off-cycle payroll processing, monthly adjustments for items such as overtime, bonuses, and other salary adjustments.
- Ensure payroll tax returns are filed accurately, timely and in compliance with tax authorities
- Annual reconciliation with STP lodgement in AU
- Manage FBT summary declaration for employees, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation payments, and calculations
- Manage inquiries from employees regarding payslips and payroll calculations
- Manage payroll tax audits and statutory external/ internal audits
- Assist with stock equity administration and process stock related payroll transactions monthly
- Record payroll related entries and accruals in the ERP and reconcile accounts monthly
- Upload payroll payment files to bank
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly commission and bonus accrual process
- Work with 3rd parties (including our tax advisors) on all payroll tax matters to ensure the Company is compliant in all latest tax development and legislations across AU NZ regions
- Conduct periodic audits of all payroll records and assist in preparing payroll and financial audits
- Collaborate with other teams on cross-functional payroll matters and provide company wide training on payroll policies and procedures
- Assist in ad hoc projects such as documenting workflows, registering new entities for payroll taxation, improving processes/procedures and system implementations
- Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience end-to-end processing medium to large size company payroll
- Knowledge of legislative and compliance requirements in relation to taxation, superannuation/pension and other statutory obligations
- Experience with equity transactions preferable
- Experience with payroll system implementation preferable
- Experience with Google Drive, including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides preferable
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce/ Workday a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excel in analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to rapidly-changing environments
- Ability to multi-task with attention to details and minimal supervision
