About this roleIf you’ve ever wanted to be the first product marketing manager in a hypergrowth start-up, this is that opportunity.
In the midst of your usual start-up chaos, you’ll be building. You’ll be laying the groundwork for how we launch products at Character for the foreseeable future. You’ll be partnering with Character’s founders, leaders, and PR leads to create aligned and focused messaging. And ultimately, you’ll be bringing the story of our consumer AI product to life for the world.
Below are some of the things you’ll be doing, as well as the key skills you’ll need to be successful in this role.
What you’ll do
You’ll want to start by developing a deep understanding of our product, its features, and its benefits for our users.
Build the plane while flying it: You’ll be launching, while building long term strategic plans that will help create the structure this function will need as we scale.
Create and own the marketing plans that align with our product roadmap.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging.
Create and execute long term strategic campaigns that promote the product, drive new users, and amplify our brand.
Past experience
5 - 10 years developing and executing successful product marketing strategies in the consumer space.
You’ve created and executed product management processes, such as product ideation, roadmapping, and development.
Attention to detail with a trained editorial eye for accuracy and look and feel.
Ability to bring a product to life through storytelling, consistent brand, and design.
Experience growing a broad audience via social channels to a significant size.
Experience working in a startup and/or dynamic environment.
Location: The role is onsite 3-5 days/week in Menlo Park, CA.
