TEAM

The Security team at Woven by Toyota is on the cutting edge of many challenging security problems. We identify emerging security threats in autonomous vehicles and help design more secure systems. We work closely with internal platform teams to provide a secure development environment through tooling and automation, allowing developers to innovate quickly without compromising security.

Woven by Toyota is pioneering the development of Woven City, a ground-breaking smart city project that serves as a living laboratory for future technologies. Our Security Operations Center (SOC) team plays a crucial role in protecting this innovative ecosystem.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Operations Engineer with a strong focus on network security. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting security operations tooling with a focus on network detection and IoT, and will apply knowledge across multiple technology and cloud domains. Expertise in IoT/OT environments, IDS/IPS systems, and Kubernetes (K8s) is highly desirable. Japanese language proficiency is a plus but not required.

You should excel at solving complex technical challenges and driving improvements in detection and response capabilities. With a balanced approach to operations and engineering, you will actively contribute to enhancing our SOC’s efficiency and effectiveness while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineer, maintain and enhance network security capabilities to ensure optimal detection and monitoring.

Create, refine and tune SIEM and network security detections.

Proactively identify and close visibility gaps in log ingestion and processing pipelines.

Support log onboarding and ensure the successful ingestion of logs into SOC tooling.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security operations focused on network detection and IoT environments.

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of security operations tooling.

Tune and optimize automated workflows to improve security operations processes

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of experience in Security Operations, Security Engineering, or related fields.

Deep understanding of network security principles and protocols.

Proficiency with AWS cloud security and services.

Hands-on experience with security tools and platforms, including SIEM solutions.

Strong collaboration skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Effective time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVES

Proficiency in scripting and automation.

Experience with an Infrastructure as a Code tool like Terraform

Experience with securing Kubernetes and containerized environments.

Knowledge of IoT/OT security principles and associated risks.

Experience with securing and managing IDS/IPS systems and their integrations.

Expertise in security architecture and solution design.

Strong knowledge of threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies.

Japanese language proficiency.
