The Institutional Product Group engineers create and maintain a suite of products catering to institutional customers of all sizes from Hedge Funds (Coinbase Prime) to experienced individual traders (Coinbase Advanced Trade) and everything in between. Additional Products include Prime - Custody Only, Prime Web3 Wallet, Commerce and Exchange. Whether the customer needs are trading, staking, governance, custody, web3 operations, or API integrations, Coinbase Institutional has them covered.
Coinbase is seeking experienced frontend engineers to join our team to build out the next generation of crypto-forward products and features. You will help build the next generation of systems to make cryptocurrency accessible to everyone across the globe.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): To be completed by all business teams except Eng.
- Develop and maintain highly interactive, responsive, and user friendly frontend applications for onchain products.
- Design, develop, and optimize smart contracts using Solidity to enable new onchain products and features.
- Integrate onchain products and components with existing Coinbase backend services to solve unique challenges such as compliance and data indexing.
- Rapidly prototype new onchain experiences to gain early feedback.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex fullstack issues, ensuring performance, stability, reliability, and security.
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): To be completed by all business teams except Eng.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus in shipping fullstack features with onchain components.
- You have experience in developing fullstack web applications and shipping user-facing features with JavaScript and modern js frameworks like React and NextJS.
- You have a strong understanding of Solidity and experience with developing smart contracts for EVM-compatible blockchains.
- You’re familiar with current trends and best practices in frontend architecture and dapp development, including security, performance, and usability.
- You’re familiar with product and design life cycles, and collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product managers.
- You write high quality, well tested and maintainable code.
- You are proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and Solidity; familiarity with Go a plus.
Nice to haves:
- You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size).
- You have contributed to open source crypto projects.
- You’ve worked with Golang, Docker, Postgres, MongoDB or AWS.
- You’ve built financial, high reliability or security systems.
- Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.
