📐 About this role
We are seeking a self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing and high-performing accounting team. In this critical role, you’ll focus on maintaining the general ledger (GL), ensuring accuracy, and supporting a wide range of accounting activities across the company. As a key member of the team, you will play an instrumental role in scaling our accounting processes and systems while wearing many hats in a startup environment.
This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role where your initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to the success of the accounting department and the company’s growth. You’ll need to be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a flexible, ever-evolving environment.
🦸🏻♀️ Your responsibilities
General Ledger Management:
Perform month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, while investigating and resolving variances in ledger accounts
Compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries in compliance with GAAP
Process operational transactions for business accruals, bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and leases
Active involvement in the financial close process-with an emphasis in intercompany transactions, and currency revaluation
Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses
Assist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing data
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives
Partner closely with various business units such as Purchasing team and Facilities team to review, analyze, and develop processes to support accounting processes
Collaborate with various departments, including Treasury, FP&A, Payroll, Accounts Payable teams, and business partners for proper recording of transactions
Active participant in delivering on accounting and organization goals
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for improvements in accounting procedures and contribute to the implementation of new tools or processes that improve efficiency and scalability
Participate in special projects related to scaling the finance function, such as system upgrades, process automation and setting accounting policy and procedures
⭐️ Is this you?
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a fast-paced environment or a startup
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience managing the general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations
Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite is preferred) and Excel (advanced skills preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
Experience in US tax filings is a plus
