The Alexa Experiences & Services team is looking for a Senior UX Designer to work on Routines and Automation Experiences as well as other exciting Alexa+ projects. The Alexa Routines designer will support the Alexa Lifecycle team to help revolutionize our routines experiences. Alexa Routines helps customers create customized experiences on Alexa, increasing the power of their interactions with Alexa devices. For example, at 8am every morning, you could setup a routine to turn on your bedroom lights, turn on your coffee maker and hear news headlines. The possibilities are numerous in this space and we are constantly innovating and solving problems.
This Senior UX Designer will work on brand new Alexa features and will re-design existing features. You will create elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet unique customer needs. You will work closely with other designers, researchers, product management, engineering, data science and operational teams to successfully go from early stage product concepts to iterations and launches of new features.
Key job responsibilities
- Create world-class, user-centered designs through consideration of customer research, business requirements, technical considerations, and usability study findings, These experiences will bridge voice, multimodal, web, and mobile applications.
- Collaborate directly with Conversation Designers and the Research team to ensure a consistent and delightful experience across all customer touch points
- Partner with the Product Management team to translate business requirements into use cases and high-level customer experience requirements
- Collaborate directly with Software Engineers to bring the resulting designs and vision to market
- Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes
- Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications
- Present design work to the design team, product team, and leadership for review and feedback

Each day, you will connect and collaborate with designers and researchers across the Alexa team. You’ll work directly with product managers to understand requirements, and develop design concepts that will be reviewed with leadership. You’ll also work with software teams to deliver detailed visual and interaction specifications.
