  • THE ROLE: 

    A Wide Ranging role on the Memory Controller team focused primarily on Silicon Debug and Firmware Development.

    The MC team is based out of Santa Clara, and we work on enabling AMD's high profile Data Center products (MI) and GPUs (Navi).

      

    THE PERSON:  

    You are energized by enabling Data Center AI Chips and GPUs, and are excited to work in a collaborative and high visibility role. 

     You are a strong communicator, able to work across teams and geographies to clearly express technical concepts.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    • Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features to be enabled
    • Significant pre-Silicon preparation work on our memory subsystem testbench to ensure we’re ready for Silicon to arrive from the Fab
    • Write Firmware for new features, recommend improvements to legacy features using best practices established at AMD and in the industry.
    • Be the point person for Memory Controller team when Silicon first arrives, and work with a cross functional team to enable a variety of features.
    • Be the HBM and GDDR Expert that understands details of Initialization, DRAM Timings and Configurations to support various vendors and technologies

      

    PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

    • Some experience with DRAM – HBM or GDDR is ideal
    • Experience working in a Silicon Bringup environment
    • Proficient in embedded C/C++
    • Familiarity in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools
    • Scripting language experience: Python, Perl, Ruby   

      

    ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

    • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
