Job Description:
We are on the lookout for a Senior/Principal Performance Architect to enhance our AI Group. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in analyzing, optimizing, and advancing the performance of our AI and machine learning frameworks and solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will lead the design and implementation of high-performance systems utilizing AMD's cutting-edge computing technologies, setting new benchmarks in AI performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced performance benchmarking, analysis, and optimization strategies for AI and machine learning models and algorithms.
- Drive collaboration across software and hardware teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex system-level performance bottlenecks.
- Define and review architectural plans with an emphasis on advanced performance, scalability, and efficiency standards.
- Serve as a technical authority, providing expert advice and direction to significantly improve the performance of AI applications and services.
- Keep ahead of emerging trends and advancements in AI, machine learning, and high-performance computing, integrating innovative solutions into our workflow.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a strong track record of academic and professional achievements.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in performance analysis, profiling, and optimization of complex software and hardware systems, with at least 5 years focused specifically on AI and machine learning technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise in machine learning algorithms, data structures, and their efficient implementation and optimization on modern hardware platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, ROCm, and CUDA and deep familiarity with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and etc.
- Significant experience with MLCommons benchmarks and best practices, demonstrating a clear understanding of industry standards for machine learning performance.
- Substantial experience with high-performance computing environments, particularly those utilizing AMD or similar architectures, is highly preferred.

- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to tackle complex performance challenges.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities, capable of driving initiatives and influencing decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of computer architecture, system design, and performance metrics.
- Proven track record in a fast-paced, dynamic development environment, with the ability to prioritize and execute on critical projects.
