SMTS SOC Architect
THE ROLE:
AMD-Xilinx Architecture is looking for a SMTS SoC Architect for the development of Adaptive SoCs across a wide range of applications, including Embedded Computing, AI/ML, Data Center, Automotive and Industrial. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the SoC architecture including the architecture of the overall SoC and SoC I/O subsystems. You will analyze and develop novel architecture solutions, write specifications, and work with customers, planning, architecture, and design & verification teams.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex SoC architecture with various IO peripherals and heterogenous processor systems and digital design & verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating in a corporate environment with other architects and product planning during the definition phase, and engineering located in different sites/time-zones during the execution phase. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. You will exercise your technical expertise and excellent communication skills to collaborate with an eye towards delivering innovative and highly competitive adaptive accelerator and embedded computing solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the development of novel SoC architecture solutions, and analyze implementation trade-offs.
- Evaluate 3rd party IPs, and make-vs-buy tradeoffs. Facilitate technical discussions between 3rd party IP vendors and engineering teams during the evaluation and execution phases.
- Define architectures of next-gen SoC subsystems including processor subsystem, IO Peripheral subsystem, platform management, interconnect, and memory subsystem.
- Author architecture specifications in clear and concise language. Guide and assist pre-silicon design/verification and post-silicon validation during the execution phase.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of CPU, AXI Interconnect, and I/O peripherals such as PCIe, USB, UFS, OSPI/QSPI, Display Port, Ethernet, etc.
- Strong foundation in SoC architecture, processor systems, and industry standard peripherals with proven years of experience
- Good analytical problem solving, and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of SOC and accelerator IP development flow, from concept to production
- Experience in guiding micro-architecture and engineering on design specifications, functional verification, and performance verification.
- Knowledge of power management, boot, security and RAS architectures
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- BS, MS or PhD degree in in Electrical or Computer Engineering. 10 years of experience in an SoC architecture role leading to an understanding of end-end development.
