AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Platform Software Engineer with expertise in RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) driver development on Linux and/or Windows. The ideal candidate will work on designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance networking solutions for AINIC and DPU applications
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain RDMA drivers for high-speed networking (e.g., Ethernet, InfiniBand, RoCE) on Linux and/or Windows.
Optimize low-latency, high-throughput data transfer mechanisms for HPC, cloud, and storage applications.
Work on kernel-mode and user-mode driver components for RDMA.
Debug and troubleshoot network stack, kernel, and driver-level issues using tools like Wireshark, perf, ftrace, and kernel debuggers.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and networking teams to enable seamless integration with RDMA-capable NICs.
Ensure compliance with RDMA standards, protocols, and APIs such as Verbs, libibverbs, and DPDK/SPDK.
Enhance system performance and reliability through profiling, tuning, and benchmarking.
Contribute to open-source RDMA projects or Linux kernel subsystems.
Required Skills & Experience:
10 years of experience in Linux or Windows kernel development and device driver programming.
Strong expertise in RDMA technologies such as InfiniBand, RoCE.
Proficiency in C/C++ programming for kernel and system-level software.
Experience with networking stacks, TCP/IP, and high-speed Ethernet.
Strong debugging and profiling skills using GDB, WinDbg, ftrace, perf, or equivalent tools.
Experience in low-latency networking, high-performance computing (HPC), or storage acceleration.
Experience with Windows RDMA stack, NDK (Network Direct Kernel), and Mellanox/NVIDIA RDMA solutions.
Familiarity with DPDK, SPDK, and hardware acceleration for networking.
Knowledge of PCIe, DMA, and hardware offload mechanisms.
Contributions to Linux RDMA subsystems or open-source projects.
Experience with cloud networking, virtualization (SR-IOV, VFIO), or container networking (Kubernetes, RDMA CNI).
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
