The AWS Global Communications team is looking for an exceptional Social Media Specialist to lead the launch and growth of new social media handles dedicated to AWS news and innovations and AWS community impact. This is a unique opportunity to shape how one of the world's leading technology companies communicates its breakthroughs in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and more. We're looking for a strategically-minded, data-driven, and creative individual with proven social media management experience. This person should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have solid news judgement, and experience in gathering and reporting social media analytics, and be able to take technical concepts and translate them into accessible, understandable, and relevant content. The person in this role will be responsible for creating and managing an editorial calendar, writing copy, sourcing visuals, and driving engagement with key audiences, and helping create content for our social advocacy platform for employees.

* Create compelling short-form content that accurately conveys technical information while maintaining engagement
* Build and manage an editorial calendar aligned with AWS announcements and strategic priorities
* Collaborate with PR, Marketing, and technical teams to ensure accuracy and alignment
* Track and analyze social media metrics to optimize content strategy and demonstrate business impact
* Establish best practices for cross-functional coordination and content development
* Manage day-to-day social media operations including content scheduling, community management and engagement with hyper local influencers
*Assist with content creation for our employee social advocacy program
