- De-risk production development from concept through design phase to inform production decisions.
- Recommend constructions, materials, and processes to meet both ID and engineering requirements.
- Hands-on experience in building prototypes.
- Create proof-of-concept prototypes with consideration for mass production constraints.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, ID, and electrical engineering teams.
- Work with engineering and manufacturing partners to ensure successful part production.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in softgoods design and development.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience designing and building softgoods prototypes for production.
- Intermediate to advanced sewing, patterning, and prototyping skills.
- Strong experience selecting polymers and textiles.
- Experience working with outside manufacturers to get parts produced to specifications.
- Ability to write and maintain clear, organized documentation for your design process.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of softgoods construction, including cut & sew, fit, and finish.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes.
- 3+ years of experience using 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Alias, or Catia.
