AMD together we advance_ WORKING STUDENT LOCATION: Munich, Germany OVERVIEW: The Architecture and Software Technologies team at AMD is seeking a working student to join us for a one-year engagement. Our mission is to research, prototype and architect cutting-edge solutions for GPU graphics and compute. We are at the forefront of hardware and software development, focusing on fully integrated solutions that span from software to the hardware. We are looking for a motivated individual to contribute to our projects! The successful candidate will collaborate closely with AMD architects across multiple teams and play a direct role in developing future hardware and new GPU programming models. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support AMD’s R&D activities in partnership with a German university, focussing on image processing, machine learning and GPU programming models. Contribute to the development and support of internal and external tools, infrastructure, and libraries. Assist in understanding and characterizing hardware behavior and performance. SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Design, develop, and maintain software tools and libraries. Conduct experiments, analyze results, and document findings. Operate within an environment that includes code reviews and defined release processes. Translate internal and external feedback into actionable feature requests and implement them. Communicate findings and insights to other AMD teams and the collaborating university. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Currently pursuing a Master's degree in computer science or related fields. Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages. Familiarity with Linux operating systems. Experience with software debugging tools. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Solid understanding of PC architecture. Experience with a modern graphics API (Direct3D 12, Vulkan) is advantageous.
