In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design a location API that integrates ArcGIS features with modern Kotlin language constructs and Android platform features
- Enable interaction between the JVM-based Android platform and ArcGIS Runtime business logic implemented in C++ through Java-Native interop (JNI). Take advantage of Android’s modern build system Gradle to build and deliver a Location API library
- Iteratively design, implement, test and document Location API features in an agile development process
- Review and approve interfaces of the C++ ArcGIS Runtime implementation to be consumed by the Android Location API
- Translate user requirements and workflows into API designs that are intuitive and easy to use within the Android platform and the Kotlin language
- Take advantage of Android’s latest platform features to provide users with state-of-the-art solutions to their problems
- Develop a location API with a focus on its use on a mobile device, taking into account the constraints of mobile devices, such as battery life, network bandwidth, memory and processing power
- Develop a location API with a focus on mobile device capabilities such as sensors, different form factors, networking and different input types such as Bluetooth
- Provide samples, documentation, code snippets and open source implementations to convey complex API workflows to users
Requirements
- Two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained
- Applicants must also have demonstrated experience with the following: Java programming; Commercial software development; Object-orientated design; and Algorithms and design patterns.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, Geography, or a related field of study
