FLEX \ CONTRACTOR Hourly Rate
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer III - Java POS (FLEX) - Development Lead to design, build, and support custom software solutions for leading global retailers. In this role, you will lead complex software projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and provide technical expertise to drive innovation in retail technology. From requirements gathering to delivery and ongoing support, you will have the opportunity to be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop new custom functionality and provide defect support for existing systems.
Author functional specifications and/or high-level designs.
Create documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and user guides.
Collaborate with QA teams to ensure quality deliverables.
Provide technical guidance during requirements workshops with customers.
Offer input to the leadership team on client contracts and technical solutions.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to the team’s growth.
Elevate technology solutions by applying best practices and fostering innovation.
Maintain professionalism in client-facing interactions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
5+ years of experience in software development.
3+ years of experience in:
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design Patterns-based implementation.
Technical leadership roles.
Development using C++, Java, and scripting languages.
Eclipse IDE or similar development environments.
Linux and Windows development.
Familiarity with JavaPOS and UPOS implementations.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with retail POS applications and devices.
Knowledge of retail concepts and/or applications.
Familiarity with 4690 Operating System.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, JavaScript, ANT, JSON, XML, HTML5, RESTful APIs, JUnit, and Maven.
