As a Software Engineer, Snapshot Delivery within the Fleet team, you will be responsible for capturing and delivering data snapshots, ensuring the reliability of backup and recovery systems. Your work will be critical in maintaining data integrity, availability, and supporting the continuity of OpenAI's research and development efforts. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We operate on a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Design and develop networking solutions to support high-performance computing environments.
Optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability across data centers.
Collaborate with hardware, infrastructure, and software teams to integrate networking with other system components.
Identify and resolve network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
Contribute to an inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives and fosters open communication.
Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical networking incidents as needed.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have 8+ years of experience in networking engineering or infrastructure roles.
Are skilled in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale network architectures.
Have experience with high-performance networking technologies (e.g., Infiniband, Ethernet).
Are proficient in network protocols, routing, switching, and network automation.
