Overview
Responsibilities
- Work closely with subject matter experts and report developers to gain a deep understanding of business processes and reporting needs and translate them into data requirements
- Collaborate with data owners and the enterprise data management team to implement new data sources required to support Educational Services reporting, decision support, and analytics needs
- Integrate source data using various connection methods (APIs, flat files, databases, etc.)
- Ensure that data structures follow enterprise data guidelines and security policies
- Model the data into star schema tables focused on business processes using extract, transform and load (ETL) processes, designed to address current and future business needs
- Create/Modify Power BI datasets and provide guidance to report developers concerning data access and optimal use in BI solutions
- Monitor ETL jobs and prioritize resolution of issues to Ensure data integrity and accuracy, based on customer impacts
- Perform data quality checks to Ensure consistency
- Understand and document data elements, data models, dependencies, and relationships
- Recognize opportunities for code and module reuse
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study
- Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained
- Applicants must also have demonstrated experience with the following: SQL Server management; Etl Development; Star Schema data modeling; Azure Synapse; C#; and Python
