AMD together we advance_

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a senior hardware engineer to join the Data Center system engineering team who will be responsible for designing critical components and integrating them into the state-of-the-art Data Center GPU systems supporting future AI deployment. This is a very dynamic and fast-paced engineering environment where you will lead and participate in a wide variety of challenging product development and projects.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a hard-working self-driven, collaborative, and strong team player with strong skills in hardware design and professional-level knowledge of the Cadence design suite. You must have excellent teamwork with strong communication and organization skills. Minimum of five years of hardware design experience coupled with a deep understanding of computer architecture, signal integrity, and power delivery subsystem designs. We operate in a fast-paced design environment with changing requirements, and the ideal candidate must be flexible but also well-versed in hardware design processes and methods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technically lead cross-functional engineering team responsible for system and hardware development of AI acceleration-based systems from the product definition to products. This included the physical design of multilevel boards, including Design for Manufacturing, power regulation, board bring-up qualification, board debug, and signal integrity
  • Cross-functional technical leadership and communication within the hardware engineering, architecture, customer, and program management teams
  • Actively drive technical definition/architecture and program execution/ issue resolution in a dynamic development environment with programs in various development phases, ranging from concept to feasibility, execution, production, or sustaining
  • Work with SOC silicon architects and the business unit to define and develop product requirements, specifications, and cost targets
  • Drive innovation in system architecture, system management, circuit implementations, and security down to the level of component selections
  • Define and manage experiments and assist with hardware set-up, troubleshooting, design verification, optimizations, and fine-tuning to achieve an optimum balance of cost and performance at the board and system levels
  • Provide implementation guidelines and feedback to silicon, package, and system design groups
  • Create and publish design technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Direct experience with hardware design of data center GPU system and understanding of AI Data Center Rack architecture and building blocks
  • Solid understanding of firmware design of the architecture of AI-based including redfish, telemetry, and others
  • Experience debugging high-speed serial interfaces, PCI Express, XGMI, and LPDDR
  • Solid experience in high-speed design techniques, high-speed PHY architecture, TX equalization, and RX signal processing and high-speed metrics measurement (V-Eye, H-Eye)
  • Experience with the design and development of RTL for FPGA-based sub-systems and test and verification cases for FPGA configuration design systems
  • Experience with Agile for BOM and material management (you are likely to have someone helping you here)
  • A Minimum of five years’ experience in hardware design is required
