Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, AIS Supply Chain - Fixed
at Amazon ⋅ US, WA, Seattle
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
AIS (AWS Infrastructure Services) is looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer to be responsible for working across many high visible product areas. As a member of the AIS Supply Chain team, you will be at the forefront of this organizational capability to increase our understanding of supply chain risks within our hardware products. The Supply Chain Resiliency team is responsible for identifying risks to avoid disruptions of product delivery by building a framework that anticipates, identifies, and mitigates high priority risks with action plans. As a resiliency BIE, you are a builder at heart on mechanisms, systems and automation. You have a passion for using data in order to drive business actions. Your goal is to improve current reporting solutions or innovate new and simpler ones to achieve robust automation insights. You have proven experience with information retrieval, data mining, building, cleaning, and training foundational models, data science, generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI), machine learning (ML), and large language models (LLM). The successful candidate will be able to retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to improve the business decision process. You thrive at analyzing and modeling very large data sets, diving below the surface to identify the root causes rather than high-level trends. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities, critical thinking, and to balance business acumen working with technical teams and systems, non-tech teams, and senior leadership. You are a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and knows how to develop a strategy, execute, and measure and deliver outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
• Apply deep analytics and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learn from large and complex data sets.
• Partner with stakeholders to define priority of BI projects and reporting.
• Lead high impact BI projects - Perform deep-dives to derive actionable insights; Creating models to predict risk actions and improve outcomes and optimize business processes.
• Build self-service reporting tools and dashboards
• Provide SQL support and delivering trainings (SQL, Tableau, etc.)
• Build various data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
