Amazon Web Services (AWS) is leading the next paradigm shift in computing and is looking for a world class candidate for the role of Sr. Partner Solutions Architect – Relational Database to anchor the Data and AI partner practice in our Industry & Partner Solutions Center of Excellence.
Ideal candidates are those who have practical working experience with relational databases. This experience would include designing and implementing database schemas, writing efficient SQL queries, optimizing database performance, and managing database operations. Candidates should have a strong understanding of fundamental database concepts such as ACID properties, normalization, indexing, and transaction management. Expertise in data modeling, query optimization, and leveraging relational databases for a variety of use cases, including transactional applications, business intelligence, and data warehousing, is highly desired.
Knowledge of database administration tasks, such as backup and recovery, scaling, and security, would also be valuable. Familiarity with database technologies like Amazon Relational Database Service like Amazon Arora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Maria DB, SQL Server, or Oracle, and experience integrating relational databases with other systems and applications, would make candidates particularly well-suited for these roles.
In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right, as well as effective in shaping customer and partner solutions involving relational databases. You will enjoy learning and introducing new database technologies to a global team to help them adopt best practices. You will be adept at interacting, communicating, and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our service teams, marketing, the broader Solutions Architect community, as well as representing our data analytics work to executive management.
As the right candidate, you will possess technical skills in software architecture, relational databases, software deployment and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization. You should also be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. You are a thought leader, and have a hands-on approach that partners are eager to engage with. The ideal candidate can learn new concepts and technologies in a yet-to-be-defined space, is able to communicate effectively with a diverse set of customers or partners across multiple disciplines, and is able to work effectively across internal and external organizations and remote teams.

* Drive Partner Success: Work across AWS teams to build and migrate partner solutions that leverage AWS relational database offerings
* Business Partners: Serve as a key member of the business development and partner management team, helping to ensure partner and customer success in building and migrating applications and services on the AWS platform using relational databases.
* Product Collaboration: Stay closely connected to the AWS database product teams and work closely with partners to launch new database capabilities as services are updated and enhanced.
* Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership on using relational databases for various use cases through external publications, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public presentations at AWS events and industry conferences.
* Community Engagement: Capture and share best practices, participate in, and contribute to the worldwide AWS technical community of Solutions Architects, Consultants, and Trainers focused on relational databases.
* Partner Evangelism: Evangelize partner value propositions internally across AWS and externally with customers, highlighting how they leverage AWS relational database services.
