AMD’s Xilinx Runtime library (XRT) provides software interface to AMD AI enabled acceleration devices like RyzenAI client CPU and AMD-Xilinx Versal based products such as PCIe based Alveo accelerator cards, MPSoC based embedded platforms, and AIE-enabled Versal ACAP devices. As part of XRT team, you will be responsible for architecting and developing system software and tools for AI hardware accelerators. The XRT software stack spans from high-level modern C++ APIs, Python APIs, HIP, and OpenCL through a modularized implementation layer that interfaces with kernel driver code and firmware on the accelerator hardware. The team is looking to welcome a talented, self-driven, motivated, hands-on software engineer who is an expert in C/C++ development and code architecture. Our team thrives in a fast-paced agile environment, and you must share our enthusiasm for developing high performance, easy-to-use, scalable, and extensible tools using modern software development technologies and practices. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate should be passionate about architecting system software, tools, and improving quality of existing code. If you have a record of delivering commercial software and have insight into ELF file format, binutils, and GDB internals, we are looking for you. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Architect, design, and implement high-performance system software for AIE-enabled devices that accelerates ML workloads. Work with technical leads and others to converge on the design of runtime software components. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to implement and debug software stack on AIE-enabled device as required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Strong software development experience in modern C/C++, and experience using multiple languages and programming paradigms. Experience with compiler, linker, and assembler. Experience with performance testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex software stack. Experience with modern modular CMake, Git, GitHub, GitHub actions for CI and testing. Solid experience of software development on both Linux and Windows. A mindset for developing high quality software stacks with well-defined pluggable components using modern build systems and unit testing frameworks. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
