AMD together we advance_ Power Management Feature Attainment Lead THE ROLE: The successful candidate will assume responsibility for broad leadership and coordination of power domain technical dependencies and schedule for AMD products. This is a highly multi-functional systems role leading horizontal teams. THE PERSON: An experienced PC-industry technical leader with examples of previous work crafting x86 systems. An effective communicator and influencer among technical people from junior engineers to executives. Crafts comprehensive high-level plans of the operation of sophisticated PC systems. Jumps in to build proofs of concepts that demonstrate solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of key responsibilities that the candidate will assume: Technical depth – requires understanding of power management at the algorithmic, SOC design, and platform design levels. Requires knowledge of SOC and platform level voltage regulator efficiency, current and voltage regulation, IP and power interactions at the power rail level. Also requires understanding power measurement methods, techniques, and accuracy trade-offs. Technical Breadth - requires understanding of several subject areas supplying to power management features, routines, and algorithms (silicon, firmware, platform, hardware, BIOS, thermal) Planning – bringing together testing, enablement and optimization plans for all power management related features, across business units, from pre-silicon to post-silicon to ensure highest risk power management features are covered. Coordinating debug of power management related features, helping to drive open issues to closure. Decision making – making priority calls based on partial/incomplete data Communication – technical and non-technical – pulling together meetings as vital, setting up clear agendas and sending notes, following up on action items Leadership – influencing the product and wider teams Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon power and performance activities Participating in the product definition process PREFERRED SKILL AND EXPERIENCE: 7+ years’ experience in computer or related industry. Exceptional English and Chinese verbal and written skills are must Strong understanding of PC system architecture, operating systems, drivers and BIOS Expert in the knowledge of power management routines, processor deep sleep states, voltage and power/current gating techniques, power capping mechanism. Good understanding of combined power/thermal management Deep understanding of digital electronics, system level performance per watt trade-offs Strong analytical /problem solving skills and pronounced attention to detail Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Master or above, major in EE, CS or related area LOCATION: Shanghai, Pudong, Zhanjiang #LI-FL1 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
