AMD together we advance_ Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring a Sr. Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform hands-on system-level debug to isolate system level failures to a specific IP or domain. Drive debug and resolution of Zen CPU validation issues across silicon, firmware/BIOS, and coordinating with memory partners as needed. Devise validation strategy from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products. Multiple openings. Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Two (2) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role. Specific skills required: The following skills are required: Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following: Performing system-level debug, isolating system-level failures; SoC verification or validation; Python, C, or C++; Product Development Cycles within semiconductor industry; Unix or Linux environments; Integrated circuit power management features; Software debugging (macOS, Linux or Unix); and X86-64 architecture.
