Team and Role Description:
Global Operations Technology (GOT) is an organization for all technologies related to Coupang Fulfillment and Transportation Systems, and FC Automation is where the most advanced fulfillment and transportation automation, AI and robotics technologies are developed and deployed to real-world fulfillment applications. As a member of the FC Automation Tech team, you’ll be a results-oriented leader and contributor who will develop and integrate state-of-the-art technologies and systems to automate various parts of fulfillment operations, ranging from inbound, inventory, and outbound picking & packing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or contribute to design, development, test, and deployment of integrated automation and robotics system for our fulfillment centers.
- Working with other members of the engineering team to execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Deliver end-to-end systems and sub-systems in order to achieve the scalability, reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance objectives of Coupang’s FC systems.
- Apply CI/CD principle to software engineering and raising the bar of software and end-to-end system development standard at GOT;
- Bring innovative ideas to practice and continuously improve the efficiency, reduce the cost and wow the customers through smart Coupang Rocket Delivery service.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field with 10+ years of experience.
- 8+ years of experience leading a robotics and automation development through multiple product/platform releases.
- Deep expertise in one of the autonomous system and robotics areas, such as AI/DL/ML, perception, computer vision, planning, control, hardware design, simulation, and end-to-end robotics.
- Expert-level algorithm development and programming skills, strong object-oriented design, real-time system implementation. Proficient in one or more robotic development environment, such as ROS, machine learning, deep learning, OpenCV, etc.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline associated with AI, ML/DL and robotifcs.
- Demonstrated ability of building, integrating, and delivering highly reliable and automated warehouse systems using AI and robotics technologies.
- Experience developing Warehouse Management System (WMS), Warehouse Execution System (WES), Warehouse Control System (WCS) or related field in e-Commerce operation and technology focused on robotics and AI-based automation system and robots.
- Deep expertise in real-time AI, robotics and automation system and technologies, including but not limited to perception, planning and control, hardware design, embedded systems, and simulation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- Proven record of innovation and problem-solving skills, especially in the areas of AI, ML/DL, robotics, logistics and fulfillment automation.
