Strategic Communications and Engagements Leader

San Francisco or New York

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable Strategic Communications & Engagements leader to lead and execute our efforts in building, nurturing, and growing relationships with top Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other key figures in the technology industry. As a key member of our small, dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in driving business development through strategic relationship building, exclusive events, and community engagement initiatives.

This role is essential to our early-stage growth and requires a self-starter who can independently execute high-impact initiatives while laying the foundation for long-term community development. The ideal candidate will have experience working in fast-paced environments, a strong ability to strategize and execute on relationship-building initiatives, and a passion for the intersection of technology and AI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Building & Strategy Development: Develop and execute a strategy to establish and nurture relationships with CIOs and senior technology executives. Align engagement efforts with broader business growth objectives and help position the company as a thought leader in the tech AI space.

  • Event Planning & Execution: Lead the planning and execution of intimate, high-impact events that bring together key technology professionals. These events will serve as platforms for relationship building, knowledge sharing, and business development. Ensure these initiatives align with the company’s growth and brand positioning.

  • Content & Thought Leadership Development: Collaborate closely with leadership to develop thought leadership pieces, reports, and other content that resonate with the technology community, showcasing our innovations in AI-driven tech.

  • Hands-On Execution: Given our early-stage nature, you’ll be responsible for independently driving the majority of community engagement initiatives—from strategy to execution. This includes everything from managing logistics to fostering relationships directly with CIOs and other key stakeholders.

  • Performance Tracking: Establish and monitor key metrics (OKRs and KPIs) to measure the success and impact of your efforts. Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team on community engagement and event performance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in community engagement, relationship management, or event planning within technology, AI, or startup environments. Previous experience in small, high-growth companies is a plus.

  • Self-Starter: Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, early-stage environment, with the ability to take ownership of key initiatives and drive them to completion.

  • Strategic & Tactical: Ability to think strategically about relationship-building while also being hands-on with execution, particularly in a small team setting.

  • Event Planning Expertise: Proven experience organizing high-impact, high-touch events for C-level professionals, especially in tech or professional services sectors.

  • Strong Communication & Relationship Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with C-level executives, particularly CIOs.

  • Metrics-Driven: Capable of setting and tracking performance metrics to assess the impact of your engagement strategies.

  • Tech Industry Knowledge: An understanding of the technology industry and its challenges, particularly with respect to AI and tech innovations, is highly desirable.
