AMD together we advance_ SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER 2 THE ROLE: We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing system architecture team. In this role you will be engaged with internal architects , performance benchmarking teams, and internal stakeholders to characterize server system solutions. This requires technically analyzing, defining outside-in usage cases, and use broad spectrum of technologies to drive a Server System solution spanning Si, platform HW/SW, and usages to deliver the best customer experiences. In this role you will provide a cohesive technical performance report out on specific server system solutions, publish technical papers on emerging Server System Solutions. THE PERSON: As a Systems Design Engineer, you will drive scalable and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to define products, develop solutions, assess root causes, and produce solution resolutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: System level performance analysis, benchmarking, workload evaluation and optimization, analysis of bottlenecks and proposing future architecture enhancements Working with multiple teams and tracking technology enablement from system solution perspective Working closely with supporting technical teams Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks Leading collaborative approaches with multiple teams PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python). Debug techniques and methodologies Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Understanding of server industry standard busses, such as DDR, PCIe, SATA, and other high-speed IO protocol is preferred. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Undergraduate/Graduate candidate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or EECS is preferred. Experience in Linux Memory Manager, C, C++ is a plus At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
