JOB DETAILS:

  • Location: Markham, Ontario, Canada
  • Onsite/Hybrid: This role requires the student to work full time 37.5 hrs a week, either in a hybrid or onsite or remote work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.
  • Duration: 16-months, May 05, 2025 - August 27, 2026

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

 

AMD’s Instinct Systems Product Engineering Team is seeking a highly motivated Co-Op student to join us and play a critical, hands-on role in productizing AMD’s Instinct Datacenter GPU solutions. Under the Systems Product Engineering workgroup, the ideal candidate will engage with cross-functional teams to ensure that AMD Instinct Product are delivered with exceptional quality.

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Please note that while the points listed below reflect skills that a student in this role would benefit from having, if you are excited about this role and are committed to learning, please do not let a lack of any of the following skills discourage you from applying.

 

  • You are currently enrolled in a Canada-based University, making progress
    towards a Bachelor's degree, majoring in engineering or a related field.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following technical skills.
    • Strong communication skills, with an ability to clearly and concisely deliver technical details to variety of audience.
    • Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines within the AMD Instinct organization and a readiness to take on new challenges beyond familiar areas.
    • Experience using Python, R, Excel VBA/Macros, or other programming
      languages for analysis and manipulation of datasets
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint,
      and Word
    • Familiarity with basic electrical design, thermal/mechanical engineering principles, and SOC (System-On-Chip) design.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving problems from an overall Systems point of view.
  • Key Qualifications
    • 3rd year student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
    • Returning to school following the co-op term
    • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Basic understanding of analog and digital Electronics
    • Familiarity with Linux OS
    • Basic understanding of the lab environment
    • Basic understanding of SW/FW development principles and computer systems architecture
    • Relevant coursework in engineering management, project management, or related management field
