Tech Business Development Manager - Space Solutions, Aerospace and Satellites

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced technical Business Development professional to focus on the MENA-T region, based in EMEA, with a strong background in the space industry to join our team as a Tech-BD. In this role, you will drive the adoption of AWS services and solutions within strategic accounts in the space sector, including government agencies, commercial space companies, and research organizations. Additionally, you will engage with non-space companies to promote the adoption of space-enabled solutions. You will also collaborate with internal teams and partners to build solutions that increase the adoption of AI/ML/GenAI services for space and space enabled applications. Your responsibilities will involve working closely with customers, AWS Solutions Architects, and internal teams to understand customer requirements, collaborate with solution architects as they design and architect complex cloud solutions tailored for space applications, and facilitate the successful adoption of AWS services within the space domain. You will play a pivotal role in comprehending customer needs, identifying innovative solutions, and ensuring seamless cloud adoption for space-related applications and initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
1. Technical and Business Development for Space Solutions:
- Act as a trusted advisor to strategic space customers, understanding their unique challenges and requirements, and positioning AWS services and solutions to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with AWS Solutions Architects to design and architect complex cloud solutions for space applications, such as satellite data processing, mission operations, and earth observation.
- Conduct technical presentations, workshops, and lead/ manage proofs of concept to demonstrate the value proposition of AWS services and solutions in the space industry.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within space customer organizations.
2. Space enablement and start-ups:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to strategic customers, both commercial and governmental, who aim to leverage space services for their missions. Understand their unique challenges and requirements, and position AWS services and solutions to meet their specific needs effectively.
- Utilize your technical expertise and business acumen to demonstrate how AWS space services can provide innovative solutions to their technical challenges, ensuring seamless integration and efficient problem-solving.
- Proactively identify new and upcoming space startups with high potential. Leverage your technical and business acumen to assess their viability and provide tailored technical support, enabling them to accelerate their progress towards developing cutting-edge solutions more efficiently.
3. Implement Space Solutions and Architectures:
- Work closely with AWS Solutions Architects, Professional Services teams, and space industry partners to ensure successful implementation of cloud solutions for space and space enabled applications.
- Provide technical guidance and support throughout the solution design, implementation, and migration phases for space and space enabled projects.
- Identify opportunities for optimization, cost savings, and performance improvements within the customer environments.
4. Business Planning and Strategy for Space and Space Enabled Solutions:
- Support the development and execution of account plans and strategies to drive AWS adoption and revenue growth within space customer accounts and customers who want to leverage space services.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes in the space industry to identify new business opportunities and gaps in the market for cloud-enabled space solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Services teams, to support the development and execution of go-to-market strategies and initiatives for space and space enabled solutions.
5. Thought Leadership and Space Industry Expertise:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and industry trends relevant to the space industry, and share insights with customers and internal teams.
- Provide space industry expertise for to the development of best practices, reference architectures, and technical content for AWS space solutions.
- Participate in space industry events, conferences, and forums to represent AWS and share technical expertise in space applications.
6. AI/ ML/ GenAI – space enablement:
- Utilize your technical expertise in the field of AI/ML to advocate for and promote the implementation of AI/ML/ GenAI-enabled solutions.
- Seamlessly integrate and incorporate AI/ML services into all engagements involving space-related and space-enabled solutions.
- Proactively collaborate with customers and stakeholders to drive increased adoption and implementation of AI/ML/GenAI services, ensuring their widespread utilization across various domains and industries.
