THE ROLE
The AMD AECG team is looking for a Technical Product Lead responsible for managing mainstream FPGA products including silicon and evaluation kits (mainly 16nm, 20nm and 28nm nodes). The goal is to manage and grow the product lines by understanding the market and use cases to position the products resulting in increased customer usage. This role additionally requires assessing product lifecycle and managing longevity activities.
THE PERSON
We are looking for bold, collaborative, and creative people, ideally suited for a candidate with background in semiconductor product management. Ideal for a self-starter with strong business acumen, and excellent communications skills, this position requires technical command, experience, and insights to develop and nurture AMD AECG products. This individual should possess unwavering customer focus, critical thinking capabilities, and excellent communication skills, both written and oral. It is of critical importance that the candidate can connect with customers to understand and champion the user experience. Sound business judgment and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team in a fast-paced environment with multiple cross-functional teams are critical for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Driving business strategy for the portfolio including execution of marketing campaigns and collateral and obsolescence management
- Possesses an understanding of Adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, embedded processing applications and system requirements.
- Understanding key markets including test & measurement, aerospace & defense, data center, communications, IVH (industrial, video and healthcare), audio video broadcast, and automotive.
- Understanding of the wide spectrum of customer requirements, market trends and financial objectives and synthesize them into a cohesive product line strategy.
- Knowledge of technologies common across AMD AECG end markets and be versed in promoting and messaging the benefits in a way that is readily comprehended by customers and the salesforce. This will include knowledge of common technologies such as ARM processors, PCIe, Ethernet, small form factor (SFP) interconnect technologies to name a few.
- Collaborate with sales, FAEs, vertical market business teams, and system architects to drive awareness of SoC and software capabilities and demonstrate the value of these solutions.
- Create messaging and present / train sales, FAEs and specialists.
- This position will include some travel for customer/field interaction.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
- Ideally, 7+ years total experience (semiconductor, marketing, sales preferred) with a proven track record
- A passion for winning and achieving challenging revenue, design win and market share targets
- Team player with excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as customer interface skills
- Well organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
- Proven experience in successfully bringing new technologies and/or business models to market and driving market adoption.
- Knowledge of FPGAs, Adaptive SoCs, CPUs and/or GPUs
- Development experience with FPGAs, ACAPs, CPUs and/or GPU
- AMD AECG develops highly flexible and adaptive processing platforms that enable rapid innovation across a variety of technologies - from the endpoint to the edge to the cloud.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Master’s degree in technical discipline or MBA is a plus, but not required
