The roleThis Data Governance Technical Program Manager role will support the fast-paced GenAI project with a focus on overseeing compliance related initiatives for the unit.
Key responsibilities
This is a critical role in the Gemini lifecycle. The Data Governance TPgM is leading the effort to ensure our models adhere to data compliance standards and are developed in a safe and responsible way.
- Architect and implement a robust, end-to-end compliance and risk management program tailored to Google DeepMind’s specific needs and regulatory environment.
- Develop a set of clear, quantifiable metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to objectively measure and track the program's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management, providing actionable insights into the program's overall status, emerging risks, compliance performance, and recommended next steps.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams (AI Platforms, Infrastructure, Data Research and Security orgs) to embed compliance and risk management principles directly into core business processes, ensuring proactive risk mitigation.
- Bring foresight of future regulatory developments to inform the strategy of what the data compliance team should be focusing on, so that we can stay ahead of the regulatory landscape.
About you
You are comfortable in highly technical spaces, and are excited by balancing “people processes” with technical solutions to drive great project outcomes. You have a high tolerance for ambiguity and an interest in solving many different kinds of problems.
In order to set you up for success as a Technical Program Manager at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- Working understanding of ML concepts and terminology
- Significant experience in creating scalable and repeatable processes involving multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience in compliance and the regulatory space is a must
- Experience in team operations/software development
- Experience managing diverse group of stakeholders & leading scaled communications
- Strong attention to detail & organizational skills
- Experience with high-visibility projects involving multiple Directors/VP-level stakeholders
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $142,000 - $219,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
