What you will bring to the team
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join a high performing team developing software solutions for the Retail Marketplace. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for driving a team of programmers, testers, software architects and other supporting roles throughout all phases of the software development life cycle from concept to product release, to life cycle management. The Project Manager will use SAFe scrum methodology and Project Management development processes and best practices to ensure quality, on-time, on-budget deliverables.
The Project Manager will represent projects from HW Development organization at cross-functional teams trusted with defining, developing, releasing and maintaining products and solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to apply his/her knowledge to deliver innovative products to the retail marketplace. You'll be able to work with an outstanding team of professionals and experience the fruits of your labor at major retailers - locally and worldwide.
What you will be doing:
Your typical day as a Toshiba Technical Project Manager will involve:
- Successfully lead complex projects by guiding a development team to define, plan, deliver and support high-quality software products and solutions.
- Define activities responsibilities critical milestones resources skills needs, interfaces and budget.
- Anticipate all possible risks and manage them by applying suitable risk management strategy, developing contingency plans.
- Build and manage high performing teams providing individual and team mentoring ensuring high levels of team engagement and developing capabilities within team ensuring seamless communication and resolving conflicts.
- Conduct analysis requirements, scope control and scope prioritization based on customer needs and scope change management.
- Conduct impact analysis of any scope changes across phases and negotiate with the product owner for scope prioritization.
- Identify the different roles and skills for each project, considering the constraints pre-requisites and other project specific metrics.
- Ensure each team is consistently applying Agile and development practices in each group.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies using SAFe methodology (Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demos, Retrospectives, Grooming, PI planning).
- Provide regular Executive Updates at the end of each sprint.
- Organize and plan the product feature-function content, working with the product group on prioritization and technical leadership on sizing and dependencies. facilitating sizing activities with the technical team.
- Work with technical leadership to develop product release schedules, committing those schedules to the business and ensuring timely execution.
- Present project status and recommendations to management.
- Complete all work items including legal clearances, regulatory requirements, product classifications and ensure that products meet industry standards.
- Identify key stakeholders to ensure establishing positive relationships.
- Interact with stakeholders as appropriate to discuss product functionality, performance, plans and field support escalations.
- Identify and resolve problems, gaps, and challenges in the software engineering processes.
- Prioritize the defects based on their criticality and severity
- Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability.
Naturally To be successful in this role, you must have and know of:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Exceptional English written and verbal communication.
- 6+ years of professional experience, mostly focused on leading projects.
- PMP knowledge.
- Familiarity with software engineering lifecycle and methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong project management skills with a minimum of 3 years of software development Project Management experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with team members dispersed across multiple countries and time zones.
- High level understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with the Agile/Scrum process applied to software development.
Nice to have:
- PMP Certification
- SAFE knowledge or SAFe Scrum Master Certification.
- Hands-on development experience.
- Experience with hardware projects.
