Scale AI is a rapidly growing, venture-backed Series-E startup that is changing the way organizations around the world build AI applications. We are looking for a strong Test & Evaluation Subject Matter Expert (SME). 

As a Test and Evaluation SME, you will be responsible for advising Scale AI cross-functional teams to influence the Product Roadmap, Go to Market, and Delivery strategies involved in Test and Evaluation of AI models and systems. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of the application of Test and Evaluation methods applied to Federal Government domains.                                        

You will:

  • Support Business Development on proposal submissions related to Test and Evaluation of Computer vision and LLM systems.
  • Support Engineering and Product Development to influence the roadmap of Scale T&E products.
  • Work closely with Operations to develop Benchmark datasets to support the Evaluation of LLMs and Computer Vision systems. 
  • Advise the strategic investments of Scale’s Public Sector to support our customers and stakeholders to develop performant and traceable Machine Learning systems. 
  • Serve as the senior technical advisor to Engineering Delivery and Go to Market for the development and direction of Scale’s Test and Evaluation products and data development services.
  • Have an active TS/SCI security clearance.

 

Ideally, you'd have:

  • A Doctorate (PhD) in  Statistics, Machine Learning, or related field. 
  • A history of published peer-reviewed papers relevant to the field of Testing and validating probabilistic systems.
  • An understanding of applicable Federal Regulations on Evaluation of systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. 

 

Nice to haves:

  • 1+ years of experience in Government.
  • 1+ years of experience in private industry,
  • Familiarity with DoD Test and Evaluation methods and processes,
  • Eg. 1+ years in a fast pace customer service role.

Compensation packages at Scale include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees are also granted Stock Options that are awarded upon board of director approval. Additionally, this role may be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.

The base salary range for this full-time position in the location of Washington DC is:
$194,580$233,496 USD
