Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
We are seeking a Subsystem Validation Engineer to lead the validation and testing of critical electrical subsystems, including Compute, Power Distribution, Charging, and Battery Management Systems. This role will play a pivotal part in the integration, bring-up, and debugging of these subsystems, ensuring their performance within the full robot system.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute bench-top validation plans for electrical subsystems.
- Design and implement test interfaces, including PCB design, equipment selection, and test layout planning to ensure comprehensive validation.
- Plan and oversee the integration and validation of electrical subsystems from component level to full system operation.
- Analyze and troubleshoot subsystem issues, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and technicians, to validate and integrate subsystems into humanoid robots.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of validation processes, test plans, and results to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop automation frameworks in Python to streamline testing and data collection.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in validating and testing complex electrical and power systems in real-world products.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and components, with proficiency in PCBA and component-level design and testing.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- Proven ability to design and implement test setups, including fixture design and test equipment selection.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation, data acquisition, and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple engineering disciplines.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with compliance/EMC testing and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with robotics or humanoid systems.
- Leadership experience in validation projects or cross-functional engineering efforts.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $230,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
