AVP - FP&A Product Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

As FP&A Product Manager, you are the product visionary for the tools and processes supporting our global FP&A teams. You ensure that Nasdaq delivers valuable products to our internal stakeholders using agile methodologies to ensure alignment with the business strategy, maximizing value delivery and continuously evaluating and adjusting priorities.  You will have responsibility for the products that support both our Corporate and Divisional FP&A teams, and will be a key part of the Finance Transformation efforts currently underway. You help to define the product vision and roadmap with the business, and efficiently invest in and develop a suite of capabilities that help Nasdaq quickly respond to rapidly changing demands in strategic planning, while fostering a culture of openness and transparency.

In this role, you will partner with a global team to manage the strategy, development, and delivery for Strategic Planning, as well as take part in the execution of several transformation efforts currently underway, balancing stakeholder needs, financial viability, and technical feasibility throughout the product lifecycle.

The Team

Our FP&A Product Manager reports to our overall Head of Product for Finance & Workplace who also leads Nasdaq’s Financial Planning & Analysis function. You will manage the FP&A products, as well as product delivery leads and business analysts supporting these efforts.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Ensure Strategic Alignment: Ensure our FP&A products and processes align with strategic objectives. Develops and drives the products’ long -term vision, value proposition and thematic goals to create a long-term vision. Is responsible for understanding client needs, product requirements, and the overall market and translating them to measurable outcomes.
  • Execute the Vision: Translate the product strategy into a clear product roadmap, metrics and desired functionality for all stakeholders. Strategically drive the development, launch, and continual support and product improvement while interpreting market trends to identify new opportunities. Effectively influences a global team as part of their daily work and achieves set objectives by executing the product strategy and roadmap.
  • Measure Success: Lead the creation and review of key metrics, outcomes, and reporting related to milestones and objectives. Monitor metrics to ensure product remains viable, desirable, feasible to develop. Prepares comprehensive overview of the progress against strategic goals, analyzing key performance metrics, identifying potential risks and opportunities, facilitating discussions to adjust priorities and collaborates with stakeholders to develop actionable plans. Ensures alignment for the direction and overall strategy by conducting quarterly business revies.
  • Manage the ecosystem: Collaborate with key external and internal stakeholders, actively engaging them throughout the product lifecycle, managing relationships across the stakeholder base. Coordinates product features or offerings with other Finance pillars where relevant and focus on innovation. Ensure that the appropriate stakeholders are engaged in risk identification and mitigation. Manages risks and impact of the product strategy and roadmap.
  • Develop talent: Focus on creating a self-organizing, autonomous, cross functional team with a shared understanding of the product goals and strategy, empowering them to make decisions and adapt to changing priorities. Create and maintain client visibility for the entire product team. Encourage experimentation, foster continued learning, and tight feedback loops. Leads and mentors the product management team working across the product suite. Leverages agile principles like continuous improvement and iterative feedback loops to optimize talent development within the portfolio of products.
  • Direct priorities: Lead all planning, prioritization, improvement, and management activities for the products to provide clients with the best value for their investment. Reevaluate the business value delivered and reprioritize work as appropriate. Manage funding and align capacity with demand to optimize resources across products.
  • Lead by example: Champion the team, partners, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment around overall strategy and direction of the product. Attend team demos and team ceremonies (as invited) and model strong leadership behaviours. 

We expect you to have:

  • Experience: At least 18+ years of experience developing products or managing FP&A processes.
  • Experience: At least 5 plus years working as an Agile Product leader and implementing agile ways of working.
  • Financial services experience a plus and financial system product knowledge a plus
  • Anaplan Model building experience strongly preferred.
  • Education: Degree qualified in Computer Science, Business / Finance or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
