AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE Within the Client Computing Group, we are bringing disruptive technology to the personal computing ecosystem. Our RYZEN branded products are designed for the most demanding developers, artists, and gamers - people who demand responsiveness and power efficiency from their PC. RYZEN stormed the market in 2017 and continues to excite people across the globe. As Business Planning Manager, your primary mission will be to effectively research the personal computing market, develop strategies and plans to gain market share and product gross margin. You will align with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers, like HP, Dell, and Lenovo) account and geographic leads, and effectively communicate these plans to executive management and peer organizations (finance, supply chain, sales). You will be reporting to the business leader for AMD’s Client business planning team. THE PERSON The ideal candidate has experience engaging in qualitative and quantitative research and using this information to identify trends and recommend business growth drivers. They possess strong interpersonal communication skills and can build collaborative relationships across all levels of the business. This person will quickly understand customer requirements, pricing structures and market conditions and translate this information into pricing strategies for the teams they partner with. In addition, this person is a proactive problem solver who is self-sufficient, able to self-manage their work, and takes initiative to drive results. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Market research and interaction with key customers to understand market trends Interpretation of corporate goals and how OEM client can impact those goals Creation of high-impact strategies or plays from the immediate to +18 months Documentation of business plans, including volume, mix, revenue, margin, inventory levels and market share Alignment with sales, finance, account leaders, supply chain, and other teams Communication of strategies and plans to executive team, up to the CXO level Contingency and/or alternatives planning for possible market shifts PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Demonstrated achievement in a fast-paced business planning or strategy role - high tech experience preferred Pre-existing understanding of the PC market, with an emphasis on OEM/MNC PC makers Exceptional time-management skills - ability to handle multiple ongoing projects/initiatives Ability to quickly create effective strategies with imperfect or insufficient datasets Strong organizational skills - Ability to work across a large organization and get things done Executive-level presentation and communication skills - ability to speak with confidence ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS BS and/or MS degree in Business Management, Finance, or Engineering from a top-tier university MBA is a strong plus. LOCATION: Austin, TX #LI-MM2 At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
